BALI HAS IT ALL: romance, luxury, beaches, wellness, adventure, sightseeing, culture, food, and architecture! Here are the 8 best things you can do!

1. On the water

There are many wonderful beaches from Nusa Dua to Uluwatu as well as islands like Nusa Penida and the Gili Islands. Bali is also popular for scuba diving, snorkeling, and the Bali Underwater Scooter.

2. Eat local food

Bali has really delicious and healthy food and an abundance of amazing restaurants. Smoothie bowls and nasi goreng are a must as well as a lovely floating breakfast if you stay in a pool villa.

Try Balinese Home Cooking for an authentic local meal and Padi at Visesa in Ubud for a seven-course fine-dining experience that blends local flavors with a modern twist.

3. Visit Hindu temples

There are more than 20,000 temples in Bali, so temple hopping is a must. The most visited temples include Lempuyang, Tanah Lot, Uluwatu, Saraswati, and Besakih, but there are countless smaller temples in local villages that are so intimate and spiritual.

Always be respectful of these sacred spaces, and make time to also visit some of the water villages like Tirta Gangga.

4. Wade in the waterfalls

There are too many to name, but Kanto Lampo, Tukad Cepung, and Tegenungan are all amazing.

5. Trek through rice terraces

Bali has very picturesque rice terraces. Tegalalang is the most popular, but Jatiluwah is just as beautiful and with fewer people.

6. Swing

If you’re feeling adventurous, strap yourself into a swing and glide over the treetops! The photos are definitely Instagrammable!

7. Relax in hot springs

Throughout Bali, there are natural hot spring resorts, like Toya Devasya Hot Springs, where you can bask in mineral-rich water as well wonderful views.

8. Hike Mt. Batur

A popular day trip is an early morning hike to catch sunrise views followed by a breakfast cooked from thermal heat from the volcano. This experience can be combined with a visit to a hot spring.

  1. I can’t believe i’ve never been to Bali before! I keep on hearing about it, the place is gorgeous! Thanks a lot for the awesome things to do, soon i hope.

  2. Bali has it! Now wonder it’s on almost everyone’s bucket list! The beaches, the waterfalls and the local food? I want that! Oh Bali, I’m on my way!

  3. I must be one of the only people in Australia to have never been to Bali. You’ve shown another side of it that looks way more interesting than the bars and pools. The Hindu temples look fab.

  4. I want to visit Bali so badly. It would be such a beautiful place and these pictures really showcase that. Also, the food looks so amazing!!!

  5. In short, whatever you want to do, you will probably find it in Bali and you can easily spend a month here and still only see a fraction of the sights on offer. The hardest part of a holiday here is choosing where to go first and what you want to see.

    Good Job for summarizing everything!..
