Go to the Grand Canyon for a few days to hike down to the bottom of the Kaibab Trail where, if you’re really adventurous, you can spend a night at Phantom Ranch for a deeper connection with nature.  It takes 5-8 hours each way to hike along this trail.

You can easily spend additional days going whitewater rafting and visiting the West and North Rims of the Canyon as well as a day-trip hike to the stunning Havasu Falls.

The historic El Tovar Hotel is a great base for exploring the Grand Canyon.

Day 12 to 13

Drive to Page, AZ, for your next adventure. While in Page, hike to the top of Horseshoe Bend for some iconic photographs!

Another iconic hiking spot just outside of Page, is Antelope Canyon, the most photographed slot canyon in the US.

From Page, you can end your trip at the celebrity hotspot, the ultramodern Amangiri in Canyon Point, UT.

At $2,000/night, I’d say it’s a fabulous way to indulge, and the hotel is the pinnacle of desert luxury and has some of the most incredible safari-style, views.

What’s nice about this trip is that each stop is about two hours driving distance from the previous stop, so it provides the perfect balance between driving, relaxation, and sightseeing activities.

In addition, even if you opted to do a few days of any of the itinerary, you would still have an amazing trip.

  1. Your photos are absolutely beautiful … nicely done! I have lived in Arizona for 14 years and think you did a great job of hitting the major highlights our stunning state has to offer. I’m actually headed to Sedona later this week for a helicopter ride and spa treatments 🙂

  2. I’ve only passed through Arizona, but I’m a big fan of road trips and would like to do this one. Your photos are incredible, and really capture the beauty of the nature there. A wonderful read.
