Luxury rooms
Imagine waking up to lush greenery and blue skies from a bright and airy 3,000-square-foot suite filled with modern decor. My Ritz Carlton Abama suite featured two large bedrooms and three full bathrooms; two walk-in closets; a fully-equipped kitchen; a huge den with floor-to-ceiling windows and a separate dining space; and an amazing wrap-around terrace with outdoor dining areas and an outdoor jacuzzi.
I often found myself gazing at the ocean and the sunset while reading a book on the terrace.
The spa
The highlight of my stay was definitely the state-of-the-art Ritz Carlton Abama spa, which offers a range of globally-influenced spa treatments, from ayurvedic ritual to Oriental hammam. I opted for a traditional massage targeting the back, neck, and shoulders, and fell asleep for the first time ever during a spa treatment! After the masseuse finished pressing every ounce of tension and stress from my body, I made use of the spa’s amazing water circuit which includes a sauna, steam baths, and a hydrotherapy pool.
Needless to say, it was one of the most rejuvenating spa experiences ever.
Overall impression
The same holds true for my overall stay at the resort. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. So, if you’re looking for a restful spot to kick back and “put your feet up”, give the Ritz Carlton Abama a try.
It’s a great place to spend time relaxing along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, swimming in the resort’s seven pools; playing the 72-par Dave Thomas golf course; dining at 13 great restaurants, including two Michelin-star restaurants; pampering yourself at one of the top spas in Spain; or simply “sleeping in” at one of more than 450 beautifully-appointed rooms and suites.
