Itinerary Overview

May 14 – May 16, 2026

May 14: Depart the US for Cairo.

May 15: Arrive at Cairo International Airport (airfare can be booked separately below) and take an included transfer to your luxury hotel for 4 nights. Afternoon visit to Islamic Cairo, where you will be able to explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s old bazaar. Next, head to Coptic Cairo to visit the Hanging Church,  Church of St. Barbara, Church of Abu Serga. Meals: Lunch

May 16: Take a day trip from Cairo to Alexandria. First, visit Pompey’s Pillar, which was constructed in honor of Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Visit the Catacombs and have lunch at a local restaurant in Alexandria. After lunch, proceed to the Qaitbay Citadel, which was built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria, and visit the Bibliotheca Alexandria. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

May 17 – May 19

May 17: After breakfast, you will be accompanied by your personal guide to Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren, and Mykerinus, and the Famous Sphinx. After lunch, visit the New Egyptian Museum. Meals. Breakfast, Lunch

May 18: Visit the Step Pyramid of Zoser, the world’s oldest major stone structure, built in the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser. Next, travel to Memphis and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

May 19: Transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Embark on an afternoon Nubian Village Tour in Aswan, sailing on the Nile by a motorboat. This tour allows you to interact with a Nubian family and learn about their simple lifestyle, culture, and traditions. Overnight in Aswan. Meals: Breakfast

May 20 – May 22 

May 20: Embark on your Nile River Cruise before lunch, then enjoy visiting the awesome Philae Temple, which is devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor. Later, visit the Unfinished Obelisk, the largest known ancient obelisk. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

May 21: Sail to Kom Ombo to visit Kom Ombo Temple, a temple shared by two gods, Sobek and Haeroris. Sail to Edfu, with lunch on board. Take afternoon tea during your sailing to Edfu. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

May 22: Visit Horus Temple in Edfu, then sail to Luxor. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

May 23 – May 25

May 23: Disembark from your Nile cruise after breakfast. Visit the West Bank and take an excursion to the Royal Cemetery for 62 Pharaohs, the Valley of the Kings, the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. Next, visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple.

In the afternoon, take a 3.5-hour transfer to the Red Sea. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

If you opt for the Egypt + Nile tour without the Red Sea, you will be transferred to the Luxor Airport for your flight home. Flights will need to depart in the evening.

May 24: Free time at the Red Sea resort. Optional activities include diving and snorkeling among the Red Sea coral reefs, as well as windsurfing, sailing, and deep-sea fishing. Meals: Breakfast

May 25: Free time at the Red Sea resort. Meals: Breakfast

May 26 

May 26: Transfer to Hurghada airport for your departure from Egypt. If you are continuing on to Ghana, you will arrive at Accra International Airport and be transferred to your hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

It is highly recommended to get the Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B vaccines in addition to routine vaccines. You should also get typhoid pills or the typhoid vaccine and anti-malarial pills. The clinic may advise you to get a meningitis vaccine because winter and spring are meningitis season in West Africa.
