The US is a country of vast beauty that you could spend years exploring. A road trip is a fantastic way to explore the US, and one of the most amazing road trips you can do is most certainly through the state of Arizona.

Arizona is known for its incredibly beautiful scenery and national parks, as well as luxe resorts focused on wellness, cuisine, and activities such as golf.

This amazing 12-day itinerary will take you on the ultimate Arizona road trip, allowing you to experience some stellar pampering, architecture, and landscapes.

Arrive in Tucson and hike to the beautiful Seven Falls in the Coronado National Forest. Stay in the luxury Miraval Arizona Resort and Spa or Canyon Ranch for a bit of pampering and other wellness activities.

While in Phoenix, do a modern architectural tour to visit iconic American architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s western houses, like Taliesin West, and unwind at a resort in Scottsdale, such as the Four Seasons, Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch, or The Phoenician.

Explore the Red Rock Country of Sedona.  Areas worth visiting are Sedona’s Grand Canyon, Mitten Ridge, and Cathedral Rock. Also, stop by a vortex and the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

Days 7 to 11

Go to the Grand Canyon for a few days to hike down to the bottom of the Kaibab Trail, where if you’re really adventurous, you can spend a night at Phantom Ranch for a deeper connection with nature. It takes five to eight hours each way to hike along this trail.

You can easily spend additional days going whitewater rafting and visiting the West and North Rims of the Canyon as well as a day-trip hike to the stunning Havasu Falls.

The historic El Tovar Hotel is a great base for exploring the Grand Canyon.

Days 12 to 13

Drive to Page, AZ, for your next adventure. While in Page, hike to the top of Horseshoe Bend for some iconic photographs!

Another iconic hiking spot just outside of Page, is Antelope Canyon, the most photographed slot canyon in the US.

From Page, you can end your trip at the celebrity hotspot, the ultramodern Amangiri in Canyon Point, UT.

At $2,000/night, I’d say it’s a fabulous way to indulge, and the hotel is the pinnacle of desert luxury and has some of the most incredible safari-style views.

What’s nice about this trip is that each stop is about a two-hour drive from the previous stop, so it provides the perfect balance between driving, relaxation, and sightseeing activities.

In addition, even if you opted to do a few days of any of this Arizona road trip itinerary, you’d still have an amazing trip.
