Travelers flying through Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport now have a new reason to dine before takeoff. Colada Shop, the beloved Caribbean-inspired café and restaurant with a devoted following across the Washington region, has opened its first airport location in Terminal 2 near the C Gates. Open daily from early morning until the last departing flight, this colorful outpost introduces airport guests to the brand’s signature Cuban coffee, all-day bites and festive cocktails.

Airport dining is often associated with familiar chains and limited menus, so Colada Shop’s arrival marks a refreshing change. In partnership with Baldi Management Group, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and Fraport Washington Partnership, the company has brought a distinctly local concept into one of the region’s busiest transportation hubs. Guests can order classic Cuban beverages such as Café Cubano, cortaditos, café con leche and Havana Cold Brew to jump-start early-morning departures. For those with time to spare, the bar program features tropical-inspired cocktails, including mojitos, piña coladas and espresso martinis.

Guests can also order light bites such as crispy croquetas filled with jamón or chicken, empanadas and yuca fries served with a trio of sauces. The signature Cuban sandwich, layered with slow-roasted mojo pork, ham, Swiss cheese, mustard and pickles on pressed Cuban bread, remains a staple menu item across the brand. Morning travelers can choose breakfast sandwiches, churro waffles, pastelitos and pan de bono, all flavorful alternatives to standard airport fare.

The new airport location echoes the vibrant energy of Colada Shop’s neighborhood cafés, with a colorful design, upbeat music and a communal atmosphere. At the heart of Colada Shop’s success is founder Daniella Senior, a Dominican-born hospitality entrepreneur, whose vision has shaped the company’s identity from the start and who recently teamed up with actor Wilmer Valderrama to open Elegancia in D.C.

When Colada Shop opened its first location in 2016, it quickly became a local favorite. Senior’s commitment to hospitality and cultural storytelling helped the brand expand across the region. Today, Colada Shop operates multiple locations in D.C. neighborhoods, including Dupont Circle, The Wharf, Clarendon, National Landing, and the Mosaic District. The new airport outpost complements these existing restaurants by extending the brand’s reach to a broader audience. For local residents, it offers a familiar taste of home before a trip. For visitors, it serves as an introduction to a regional favorite that they may choose to explore during their stay.

The DCA location also reinforces Colada Shop’s identity as a gathering place, even within the fast-paced context of air travel. Travelers can meet colleagues before boarding, toast the start of a vacation, or simply enjoy a comforting cup of Café con Leche while watching planes taxi on the runway. Senior says, “Even if it’s just a cortadito and a pastelito on their way to a gate, if someone leaves smiling, feeling seen, or even just energized for their journey ahead, then we’ve done our job.”

  • Planning a trip? Make sure you’re not making these common travel mistakes.Your dream getaway deserves more than rushed decisions and last-minute stress. From choosing the right destinations to creating an experience you’ll truly enjoy, the right planning makes all the difference. #travelplanning #womenover40 #travelbetter #dreamtrip #womentravel #travelinspiration #wanderlust #thetripwishlist
  • The person making your coffee, weaving a textile, or arranging flowers has a day of their own underway. If you would like a portrait, begin with a greeting and explain what you are asking for. Be equally clear if you hope to share the image publicly. A warm exchange can happen with the camera tucked away, too. Respect the answer without bargaining, thank them for their time, and let the interaction end comfortably. What travel conversation has stayed with you long after the trip? #RespectfulTravel #TravelPhotography #CulturalTravel #WomenTravelers #TheTripWishList
  • A mother-daughter getaway or a trip with friends can call for two bedrooms with an easy connection between them. Before you reserve, ask about the actual door. Hotel terminology varies, and a note asking for nearby rooms may leave the arrangement subject to availability. Request a clear answer about whether the internal connection is confirmed, then check the bed configuration for both rooms. Send the question on slide four to the person handling your reservation so everyone is picturing the same setup. #HotelRoomTips #MotherDaughterTravel #TravelOver40 #WomenWhoTravel #TheTripWishList
  • Chicago gives you a different city from every rooftop. At Cindy’s, the view opens toward Millennium Park and Lake Michigan. LondonHouse puts the Chicago River in the frame. Chateau Carbide pairs its outlook with the character of the Art Deco Carbide and Carbon Building. That makes the evening about more than what is in your glass: it is a chance to notice the city’s architecture from a new angle. Which view would you stay over? • Screenshots are inspiration. They are not an itinerary. If your camera roll is full of hotels, restaurants, cities, beaches, and “one day” trips, the next step is not saving more. It’s sorting those ideas into: 1. what fits your life now 2. what belongs on a future list 3. what deserves a real planThat decision alone can turn travel from something you endlessly research into something you actually do.Want the framework I use to make that process simpler? Comment LEARN.#TravelPlanning #LuxuryTravel #TravelOver40 #WomenWhoTravel #BucketList #DreamTrip #TravelAdvisor #IntentionalTravel #TheTripWishList
  • A dream trip starts as a collection of ideas.A bookable trip needs structure.Which destination? How many days? What is worth prioritizing? Where should you stay? What needs to be booked first? How much breathing room does the itinerary need? That’s the gap The Bespoke Travel Method is designed to close, so you can stop circling the same ideas and start building a trip you can confidently book.Comment LEARN, and I’ll point you to the next step.#TravelItinerary #LuxuryTravel #TravelPlanning #TravelOver40 #WomenWhoTravel #BucketListTravel #TravelAdvisor #PlanYourTrip #TheTripWishList
  • Alaska is a perfect example of why timing matters.Wildlife, daylight, road-trip conditions, hiking, kayaking, crowds, and even the kind of scenery you experience can shift depending on when you go.If Alaska is on your list, don’t start by choosing a hotel. Start by choosing the version of Alaska you want to experience.Read the full guide: https://tripwishlist.com/best-time-to-visit-alaska/Save this for future Alaska planning.#AlaskaTravel #BucketListTravel #AdventureTravel #TravelOver40 #WomenWhoTravel #LuxuryTravel #TravelPlanning #AlaskaTrip #TheTripWishList
  • Bora Bora may be famous for overwater bungalows, but the destination deserves more than one iconic photo.A great trip can include time on the lagoon, exploring the island, local food, water activities, and the kind of quiet moments that never make the brochure. The hotel matters, but the experience around it matters just as much.Save this for your South Pacific list.🔗 https://tripwishlist.com/what-to-do-in-bora-bora#BoraBora #TahitiTravel #LuxuryTravel #SouthPacific #BucketListTravel #TravelOver40 #WomenWhoTravel #IslandTravel #TheTripWishList
  • Most dream trips get stuck between inspiration and decisions. The process is simpler when you separate the stages:1. Inspiration — collect possibilities.2. Decisions — choose what fits your life now. 3. Itinerary — put the right experiences in the right order. 4. Booking — secure the pieces that make the trip real.If you keep jumping between all four, planning feels chaotic. If you move through them in order, it becomes manageable.Where do you usually get stuck?Comment LEARN if you want the full planning framework.#TravelPlanning #TravelOver40 #WomenWhoTravel #LuxuryTravel #BespokeTravel #TravelItinerary #DreamTrip #TravelAdvisor #TheTripWishList
