Aspen, CO
Aspen is perhaps America’s most famous ski town. But Aspen is actually a year-round destination offering activities such as skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and snow biking in winter, and hiking, rafting, and mountain biking in summer. With such a wide variety of activities, Aspen also makes a great romantic escape for couples that love the outdoors.
The town is also a renowned après ski destination and has a number of upscale boutiques, restaurants, and hotels to check out. With two amazing national parks within close proximity, Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park, romantic mountain getaways to Jackson Hole are all about the breathtaking beauty of nature. Teton Village, about 20 miles north of Jackson, is a year-round destination located at the base of the Teton Mountains, and it’s home to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the Jackson Hole Aerial Tram, known as“Big Red.”

Stowe, VT
Stowe is one of New England’s prettiest towns as well as an incredible place for romantic mountain getaways during fall. Known for its clapboard homes, covered bridges, and the white-spired Stowe Community Church, which was built in 1863, a trip to Stowe feels offers a relaxed pace and beautiful scenery.
Hiking and skiing are among the best things to do in Stowe in fall and winter. The town is only ten miles from the Mt. Mansfield Peak Visitor Center, home to the tallest mountain in Vermont. In addition to Mt. Mansfield, Pinnacle Trail takes you to Stowe Pinnacle, where there are gorgeous views of the rugged landscape. Moss Glen Falls, Smuggler’s Notch State Park, and nearby Lake Willoughby are extraordinary places to go hiking.
During wintertime, Stowe Mountain Resort offers a variety of winter activities ranging from skiing to tubing as well as other activities such as ice skating and riding the gondola. Of course, any time is a great time to taste real Vermont syrup or visit Ben & Jerry’s Waterbury Factory.

Taos, NM
