Italy’s second largest city Milan has long held a rich history of the arts, and when visiting this bustling city, it’s important to see the major sites, such as Milan’s Duomo, the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuel, La Scala, and Da Vinci’s “Last Supper†painting at Santa Maria delle Grazie church. But just outside the hustle and bustle of Milan, you can take a break a spend 24 hours in Lake Como.

What to do
Take an hour-long train ride from Milano-Nord Cadorna station to Como-Nord Lago. Once there, head to the Como-Brunate funicular to see panoramic vistas of the lake and all its glory.
Experience the lake firsthand via yacht or sailboat, and visit the Duomo di Como (love the name) and its impressive small art collection.
Tour a stately waterfront villa many of which are now museums, and walk the lakeside promenade for gorgeous, up-close views of the lake. The views of the lake are simply breathtaking, so not surprisingly, most activities make use of the lake or take advantage of the views.
Where to stay
Once you finished sightseeing, have aperitivos at Villa d’Este hotel in Cernobbio before retiring to a number of quaint places to stay.
